Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information HealAtlas (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you visit healatlas.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain English. If you have questions, please reach us through our Contact page.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the site and answer readers.

  • Contact form submissions: If you use our contact form, we collect what you enter, usually your name, email address, and message. The form is powered by the WPForms plugin and stored on our website.
  • Cookies: Small text files stored in your browser that help the site work and help us understand how it is used. See “Cookies” below.
  • Analytics data: We use Google Analytics, connected through Google Site Kit, to learn how visitors use the site. This can include pages viewed, time on page, the referring website, general location (such as country or city), device type, browser, and an online identifier stored in a cookie.
  • Server logs: Our hosting provider, Hostinger, automatically records technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the date and time of your request, and the pages requested. This is standard for nearly all websites.

We do not ask for health information, and we ask that you do not send sensitive health details through the contact form.

How we use your information

  • To reply to your messages, including correction reports, feedback, and partnership requests.
  • To understand which content is useful so we can improve the site.
  • To keep the site secure, fix technical problems, and prevent spam and abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Needed for the site to work properly, including those set by WordPress and our caching plugin, LiteSpeed Cache, to deliver pages quickly.
  • Analytics cookies: Set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and measure site usage.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how the site works. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Third parties

We rely on a few trusted service providers to run HealAtlas:

Our articles may link to outside websites, such as research journals and public health agencies. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of HealAtlas, our readers, or others.

How long we keep information

  • Contact form messages: Kept only as long as needed to respond and keep a reasonable record, then deleted, generally within 24 months.
  • Analytics data: Kept according to the retention period set in Google Analytics (we use the shortest standard setting practical for our needs).
  • Server logs: Kept by our host for a limited time for security and troubleshooting, as described in Hostinger’s policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Ask us to delete your information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where we rely on it.
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To make a request, contact us through our Contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it, and we aim to respond within the time required by law (generally 30 to 45 days). If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children’s privacy

HealAtlas is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections and keeping our software up to date. No website can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be noted on the site. Please check back periodically.
